Regrettably, NW C.A.R.S./NW Custom And Restoration Services, Inc. is now closed. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our customers that we have had over the years, many of whom have become friends. Despite your support and patronage we have found ourselves in a set of circumstances like never before. MANY 'RUMORS' ARE FLOATING ABOUT THE GRAPEVINE................ SO HERE IS THE REAL STORY:
(From the horse’s mouth as it were. We have heard a great many stories running rampant throughout the rumor mill so here is the real story)
Besides the challenges of a rough economy, which took it's toll as well, we were faced with what amounted to identity theft of our business name, identity & reputation by someone who proceeded to literally destroy customer cars-(not ours, his)- which took an even bigger toll on our business. Unfortunately, we found out about this "identity theft" months too late & only after the damage was done. We actually found out because one of 'his' customers set out to sue us with the "misunderstanding" that we were somehow one-in-the-same company. Despite our efforts, damage control was unsuccessful after so many months of "the bad news traveling" amongst the car culture in the northwest. Then to add insult to injury we had issues presented to us through the IRS which put an increased burden on our already now struggling existence. All of this amounted to more than enough for us to be forced to close our doors.
We greatly appreciate all of you who helped us in spreading the word about the 'identity theft' and we are saddened to admit that it just simply must have been a case of "too little too late". As you all well know; it is human nature to "gossip" about 'bad' news more than 'good' news, and likewise, as the story is told time and time again it is exaggerated and elaborated upon each time - we have heard many, many, versions, none of which are true. Hence this page here in an attempt to set the record straight & to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has become a part of the NW C.A.R.S. family & to those who made efforts to help in spreading the truth.
Please know that I will continue to be there and support those of you in our NW C.A.R.S. family, and I will remain a car builder in some manner & sense even though NW C.A.R.S. is no more. Other than that, we, like many in this economy, will have to see what the future brings. Many of you have, or will have, the proper contact information for me and whatever future endeavors I shall be involved with.
As always, I appreciate all of you and your support & welcome your questions and concerns. I look forward to seeing you all again and exploring whatever challenges the future holds for us. Best wishes to all & we hope to see you throughout the coming "cruise season".
